Had a design consultation with Tracy Motzkeit - she was professional and friendly at all times and really cared and listened to what we needed. She was detailed in her design and during the visit was understanding and supportive as I was juggling a newborn. Thank you, Tracy.

Study fitting.

I wanted to wait until my study fitting and revamp was totally complete before providing feedback. I could not be more delighted with the finished result, we have had so many great comments from friends and relatives who want to know who the supplier was and are now are thinking about their own studys/bedrooms. The Southampton showroom staff could not have been more helpful, our designer Christina went over and above to ensure everything was right and exactly how we envisaged. Our fitter Stan was exceptional, kept in touch and took huge pride in ensuring a perfect job. This should have been a 5 STAR PLUS rating, but unfortunately there are a few negatives that resulted in only a 4 rating. I hope Hammonds take a positive stance to work on improving those areas so nobody else experiences what we had to go through to get to the brilliant end result. Our job was a little unusual because we were having a carpet with underfloor heating fitted after the furniture had gone in which affected the height setting of the furniture. The surveyor was told about this and our fitting was scheduled for October. Stan the fitter arrived as expected, with prior texts to let us know times etc, but things went downhill. I decided the worktops were too much of the same colour with the rest of the furniture in a small room (obviously our fault) After much debate Hammonds would only replace them with an alternative at our additional cost (WITHOUT the original discount applied and WITHOUT any credit for the unused worktops). We had expected to pay for the replacement worktops since the change was our fault but we had expected it would be at the same discounted rate. It was arranged Stan would return to complete the fitting with the new worktops and fit the other bits that were missing from the order (not sure why wrong things had been supplied or missed). Unfortunately the wrong replacement worktops were ordered by the head office team which was discovered when Stan returned the 2nd time. It also became apparent at this stage the fitting instructions did not correctly accommodate the carpet and heated floor. After much waiting (weeks and weeks over Christmas) the Area fitting manager arrived and was able to issue instruction for Stan to return and adapt the fitting and order the correct worktops. The Fitting manager was extremely helpful and knew what he was doing, but a more prompt focus would have been appreciated. Stan returned in February and the fitting finally was complete. The heated floor and carpet went in like a dream and room is just fantastic - turned from a study which seemed to have become a dumping ground into a calm welcome work place. The downsides of this whole 4 month plus saga was frequent handoffs at the head office level to different people with no joined up thinking. Phones frequently not answered, emails not responded to and commitments not met, I had to chase and chase. We were given compensation for the delay and since the original worktops went missing we got refunded for them too, which was really appreciated, but we would have much preferred everything had gone smoother. We understand that not all fittings go right first time but it is how a company conducts themselves during this time that really leaves a lasting impression. We are so glad now we didnt throw in the towel (we were sorely tempted to when Christmas was a mess) but the end result eventually made it all worth while. We would use Hammonds again and definately Christina and Stan, but we have learned alot from the experience.

Hammonds Heaven

We are over the moon with our new fitted bedroom furniture. Everything has gone as planned from surveys to fitting. Our fitter Dan was excellent. Were sent the wrong drawer fronts for bedside tables, but he has already arranged for the correct ones and a fitting date. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Everything has been perfect

Everything has been perfect! The ordering process, the surveying and the fitting. I don’t have enough good things to say about our excellent fitter Rich. Kept us briefed on arrival times, worked hard and without any fuss, hardly noticed him in the house. Suggested small improvements to original design to further enhance the result and we are delighted with the finish. First class service and product that I would highly recommend!
