Business Process Improvement Manager

At Hammonds Furniture, we are seeking a dynamic Business Process Improvement Manager to lead our Continual Improvement (CI) program. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Director, you will spearhead efforts to enhance our business processes using lean tools and methodologies, in alignment with our strategic objectives. Your role will involve mapping and analysing current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving efficiency across the company to deliver Right First Time (RFT) standards.

How You Will Succeed

  • Champion RFT Standards: Lead and enhance our Right First Time standards across the company.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships throughout the company to coach and implement lean methodologies and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborative Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses using lean methodologies to develop and execute a CI strategy.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Provide and maintain data insights to track progress, identify opportunities, and measure success and sustainability.
  • CI Methodologies: Lead and initiate Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to foster a culture of innovation.

Measures of Success in the First 12 Months:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Hammonds' business processes and dependencies.
  • Positive 180 feedback from stakeholders, indicating strong visibility and influence.
  • Development and buy-in of a CI strategy.
  • Initiation of upskilling projects and mentoring.
  • Delivery of three major projects, achieving savings of over £250k.
  • Achieving a 3% improvement in Company RFT.

What It Takes

  • Qualifications: Black Belt certification in Kaizen or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in process improvement, particularly in manufacturing and end-to-end supply chain management with direct customer interaction.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements with measurable results.
  • Autonomous Working: Ability to thrive in an autonomous environment.
  • Engagement Skills: Experience in guiding and engaging teams on the CI journey.
  • Leadership in Matrix Organisations: Proficiency in leading teams to cultivate a CI culture.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced MS Office skills and expertise in data manipulation and interpretation.
  • Data-Driven: Strong ability to interpret data quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels through compelling data storytelling.
  • Multi-Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for People: Enthusiasm for understanding processes and influencing team members throughout Hammonds.
