Muddy Paws and Everyday Wear: How Different Dog Breeds Affect the Home | Hammonds Furniture
Hammonds Furniture surveyed 1,000 UK dog owners to reveal which breeds are most associated with signs of wear at home and how to protect it.

Have you ever spent hours on Pinterest saving hundreds of photos for inspiration just to end up feeling as though your own home doesn’t quite match up to these beautiful houses you saw online? Or perhaps you've fallen into the trap of trying to replicate every trend you see on Instagram or TikTok, only to feel like you're living in someone else's vision?
The key to creating a home that truly stands out lies in discovering your own unique style and bringing it to life. While online inspiration can be a great starting point, endless scrolling through trendy aesthetics can leave you more bewildered than inspired. Drawing on online inspiration is useful for providing a starting point but eventually the infinite scroll through niche interior aesthetics and micro-trends can leave you more confused than when you started.
If you’re thinking of updating your home, it can be daunting to overhaul several rooms at once. Our favourite place to start for a small baby step into a new style is an entryway or kitchen, as these rooms can be quickly refreshed with a new coat of paint or trialling new hardware styles. Tackling these smaller spaces also gives you a perfect opportunity to live with your new style before committing to the time and money needed for a complete home redesign. There’s so many external factors that influence whether you’ll be able to achieve your design goals. You might absolutely love black walls—but if there’s a lack of natural light in a room, then black walls will make the space feel very small and dark compared to how black walls look in a large room with a high ceiling and bright south-facing light. Better to realise you’re only a fan of dark paint on Pinterest when you’ve only committed to one tin of paint! It's all about finding a balance between your aesthetic preferences and the unique characteristics of your home.
There's something incredibly empowering about transforming a house into a home that reflects your personal style and taste. After all, there’s no place like home.
