As the nights get longer and mornings get darker… it’s never been more important to make room to connect with family and friends—or to just make time for you!
Reserving an hour each week for a coffee morning can be a small adjustment to your normal daily routine, while building a new habit where you can spend your hour however you’d like.
At home coffee mornings can be more cost-effective and mean you don’t need to brave the chilly autumn air, and opting to journal or plan your upcoming week can be a peaceful use of this designated coffee time. Friends and family can also join you for a coffee get together for face-to-face connection.
Coffee mornings can also be used to do good in your community: whether your local neighbourhood, work, or with friends. Macmillan Coffee Mornings are a fundraising event to support the 3m people living with cancer in the UK, and have been going since 1990. To host your own Macmillan Coffee Morning, you can request a pack directly from Macmillan—in 2023, an incredible £18m was raised by communities! Along with funding the care that Macmillan provide, these Coffee Mornings create an opportunity to interact with others you may not have spoken to otherwise; and making new friends over cake and coffee sounds like the perfect way to spend an hour!
