The Exceptional Fitter!

My finished product is awesome and that’s all down to the brilliant fitter who worked through some problems carefully and with skill and charm. There are some learning points for Hammonds but I’m thrilled with the outcome. This is my second Hammonds install … the first in my bedroom about 8 yrs ago and now in my study. The styling is amazing but it’s the fitting which truly makes a difference.

Fabulous …

I had a meeting with my design consultant (Gavin Collins) about a home office design a few weeks back (17.1.25) He made the time to listen to what I needed, what I wanted, (not every company does even if they say they will!) & what I needed to keep. He came up with a fabulous design and was totally patient and helpful when I wanted to discuss alternative plans/ concerns/issues. Today (28.2.25) the Hammonds surveyor (Jowita) came. Like Gavin, totally professional, patient and understanding in regard to what I want to achieve. I am so impressed by the people employed by Hammonds that have worked with me so far. Very pleased overall with new units

Micheal who fitted units in my study and bedroom was excellent, I couldn’t praise him more highly. He gets a five star review from me The sales representative and technical fitter were also very helpful. The reason I gave 4 stars to Hammond’s is because I was emailed Hammond’s room preparation notes only the week before installation. Included in this was the instruction not to decorate beforehand and take up carpets. I had already booked a decorator for the day I got the email and their lead time is several months. It would have been helpful to have this flagged much earlier in the process. In regard to taking up the carpet, I wanted to check if it there was another option as I would need to find someone to do that job for me at relatively short notice. I sent two emails on consecutive days via my Hammond’s account requesting a call back. Both were acknowledged confirming someone would be in touch but no one called me back. Whilst I am very pleased with the finished product, the lack of call back I experienced made the lead up unnecessarily stressful.

Good experience from start to finish

Good experience from start to finish. The designer, surveyor and fitter are all very polite and friendly. We have got exactly what we wanted. The cupboards are good quality.

Very professional service

Very efficient service from Hammonds and not too long to wait. The icing on the cake was the great joiner (Dave) who did a fantastic job. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, he worked a very long day to make sure we were happy, which we are!

Wardrobe fitted by Kamilu Disu

Wardrobe fitted by Kamilu Disu over the past two days. Kamilu has done an amazing job, especially as we have a slanted roof and the fitting against that is so tidy. He is a diligent and hardworking carpenter who obviously takes pride in his work.

Under-stair storage

I've recently had Hammonds under-stair storage installed. The designer, surveyor and fitter were all punctual, friendly, and diligent. I chose Hammonds because they were one of the only companies that offered 80cm-deep drawers. 70cm seemed to be the standard elsewhere, which would leave a lot of wasted space under my stairs. Christina the designer took my request into consideration to draw up the initial plan, making sure there would still be space to access the consumer unit. The plan also included an inventive solution of some shelving inside one of the cupboards to help make the best use of the awkward space. Darren the surveyor spotted a minor issue that needed amending on the original plan, which was all sorted easily. He also gave helpful advice on how to remove some minor obstructions before the fitting (old shelf supports that were firmly glued to the wall). Roger the fitter worked conscientiously and quietly, completing the installation in a day and leaving everything tidy. There were some disruptive roadworks outside that made it harder to park close by, but he was very understanding. Managing the appointments and payments was straightforward through the online portal. And the new storage looks great!
